1st January to 9th January

1st January to 9th January

On the 3rd I went exploring and ended up walking around Weald Country Park just outside Brentwood. What a beautiful place that was to visit and I will definitely be returning when the weather is warmer. I have written elsewhere on my blog about this visit so if you would like to read more about it click HERE, there is lots more photographs too.

On the way home from Weald Country Park I took a detour and popped in to have a look at Mountnessing Post Mill as it wasn’t too far from my route home. A lovely windmill but unfortunately it was closed so I couldn’t go inside. I have written more about the Mill somewhere else on my blog so click HERE if you want to learn more about it.

On the 5th I took a road trip into Suffolk and visited Rendlesham Forest again which was great but I was enjoying my time there so much that I forgot to take any photographs. After leaving the forest I tripped over to a small town on the banks of the River Stour called Bawdsey. This was a beautiful place to visit at the mouth of the river but I did not get much time there as the car park I had parked the van in looked like it was going to flood with the extremely high tides that we were experiencing at the time. Not to worry though as I will be returning soon I can assure you.

On the 9th I spent the day trying to catch a pike at Alton Water but unfortunately failed to even get a nibble. Never mind as the weather was cold but sunny, probably why I did not catch anything to be honest as they were not good conditions for catching pike, and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the water watching the wildlife.
