So a couple of days before Christmas I finally got round to finishing off the SLOE GIN that I had made a few months previously.
I’ve never made this before so was really looking forward to having a wee snifter to see what it tasted like. After pouring the contents of the jars into a large sieve and letting it drain for 10 minutes I then started bottling up the remaining liquid. I ended up with 10 small bottles, one full jar and a large empty gin bottle full of my prize beverage.
Obviously I had to try a small sample, ok maybe a small bottles worth, and it tasted gorgeous. On its own it has quite a strong, sweet fruity taste but not too over powering, tastes even better when mixed with tonic water and ice.
I will definitely be making more of this next season……
