On the afternoon of the 21st the boys and I took a nice walk along the banks of the River Crouch towards Lovedowns Sluice and slightly beyond. The sun was out but it was pretty chilly with a fair breeze blowing but we enjoyed our 4.5 mile wander. There is a lovely stretch of trees at the end of this walk which stretches out into the fields and has a large fallen tree stump placed right at the very end which is ideal to have a short sit down and sip on a coffee, which I did.
Oh, and my brand new, only worn on this trip, wax cap blew clean of my head and landed in the river before slowly sinking beneath its surface never to be seen again. COBBLERS……….
