SLOW WORM

SLOW WORM

My day job as a gardener means that I get to see, and find, all manner of wildlife while I go about earning a crust. Most of what I stumble across does not hang about too long for me to get my phone out and take a picture though but thankfully this lovely little slow worm stuck around for me to pick it up, to move it to a new home as I was using a digger to clear its original place of abode, and have a wee photo shoot.

Although they look like snakes, or a large worm for that matter, they are in fact legless lizards. I regularly find them living beneath rocks and old rubble overgrown with weeds/plants.

I love these wee little fellas……..
