MY KITCHEN GARDEN

MY KITCHEN GARDEN

Anybody who knows me knows that I love my food, both eating and cooking , and also that I like to use the herbs and vegetables that I grow myself in the dishes that I make. I don’t have a lot of room to grow stuff but I think I utilised that room well. This week I have been potting up my herbs, and some veg, ready for the growing season coming. I built some decking racks a while ago so I could maximise room I have available and I,m pretty proud with how they have turned out. I have all of the herbs that I commonly use, Sage, Oregano, Mint, Coriander, Parsley, 6 Bay Leaf cuttings and basil in pots on the racks as well as Thyme and Rosemary in larger decorative pots. As well as the herbs I also have Half a dozen Tomato plants, I like to make fresh pasta sauce a lot as well as my oven dried tomatoes, as well as 3 Jalapeño plants, a Cayenne Pepper, a couple of Sweet Peppers, a Scotch Bonnet plant and two Banana Pepper plants. Theres also a few Strawberry plants and Runner bean plants for the Mother in Law.

I also have an Olive Tree, which we’ve owned for years but didn’t really do much until I re-potted it last year and now its growing like crazy. I think it’s also starting to grow some olives but I,m not really sure, we’ll see what happens over the next couple of months.

I know this has nothing to do with the countryside but I thought I,d just share it with you. Although my main passion is being outside emmersed in what the countryside has to offer, I do thoroughly enjoy pottering around in my garden also, after all it is still outdoors…..
