On the 20th I took the boys for a nice walk along the banks of the River crouch at South Fambridge. It was overcast, breezy and cold but we never lat that bother us. The boys had fun running through the ditches and swimming in the river whilst I enjoyed watching the numerous skeins of geese flying up and down the river.
On Christmas Eve I took the boys for a nice longer than usual walk as the plan was to try and wear them out a bit for the coming 2 days festivities as I had family coming. Well the walk was lovely but wearing the boys out didn’t really work, I should of known better with these 2 as they are super fit, they were still excitedly welcoming everyone who visited us. Anyway back to the walk, we parked at Lions Creek and walked the banks towards Black Point on the River Crouch. Initially it was windy and overcast and threatening to rain but after a short while the clouds cleared and the sun came out revealing beautiful crisp blue skies, it did rain shortly after we returned home though. This stretch of the Crouch is amazing as not many people walk the banks here as parking is very limited, so you rarely see anyone else. The views across the river are fantastic too and I will write in more detail about this stretch soon as I have a little plan I’m working on.
