On the Monday I took myself off for a little explore through two local ancient woodlands that I have driven past countless times but had not actually stopped and visited. Tile Wood and Little Havens Nature Reserve are managed by ESSEX WILDLIFE TRUST and are connected by a couple of tracks that lead around both areas and I had a lovely little walk through the both of them. I have written a more in depth post about Tile Wood HERE and also have another post about Little Havens Nature Reserve HERE.
On Tuesday I took the boys for their early morning walk over Cherry Orchard Country Park as it is pretty close to my home. The skies were clear and sunny but there was a definite nip in the air. I had a little sit down on one of the benches that are dotted around the parkland drunk my coffee as the suns rays starting to warm me. the boys had a good splash around in the lake followed by running up and down the stream nearby. All in all a lovely little walk.
On Wednesday I was working on Canvey Island and found that I had a spare bit of time between customers around lunchtime so I decided to park up at Thorney Bay and have a little walk over the wall. What a surprise it was to see the sea defence walls brightly decorated with paintings and the pathway at the bottom of the wall dressed with numerous large pots filled with palms, olive trees and the shrubs. I really do like what the Island has done to the boring, dull grey of the sea wall, I must explore it more sometime.
